This meeting was the first meeting after filming so we organised how we were going to approach the next steps. This meeting was before we found out about the Dialogue problems from our other posts, so we had decided that once the media team had picked which scenes they wanted to use we would sync and clean the dialogue, and then giving it back to the media team to start editing. Obviously this seemed like the best approach to us before we knew that syncing dialogue wasn’t our job.
Month: April 2017
Meeting with Group 3
In this meeting the dates for filming were finalised, and we sorted out how we were going to get to locations, this was easy because Callum drives, so we arranged for Callum to bring his car to Lincoln so we could take care of our own arrangements.
We also informed the film crew that we would be using a boom microphone accompanied by radio microphones to give us a wider range of options for trying to attain the best possible audio from the shoots.
Meeting with Group 2
In this meeting we were presented with all the possible days for filming so that the producer could make a schedule that worked for everyone, we ended up deciding in the meeting that we would be able to any of the days proposed so the schedule would fall to the actors to give any days that they weren’t able to do.
We were also provided with a preliminary schedule of when and where each scene would be filmed, as the group had decided that Harlaxton Manor was where they wanted to shoot the film.
Meeting with Group 1
So in the first meeting with the Media group after Christmas we were informed that the script had changed and that one member of the media group had left.
We were given a copy of the script to look over so we could start making notes and looking at home many microphones we would need for each scene.
We were also shown possible locations for filming, the group wanted to film in a house of some sort but were also looking at Harlaxton Manor because they offer free filming for university students.
Meeting With Dave 10
We had an unofficial meeting with Dave before the deadline because we were concerned about the problems that the media team were having, we went through the processes we took to fix the problems which were mainly due to the inadequate equipment that the media team were provided to listen back to the audio, leading them to believe that the product was bad and not the speakers, we also explained that any other issues were either due to this speaker problem, or were misunderstandings that were cleared up easily.
Certain things that the media team wanted to change were actually cancelled, this is because they had no device to listen to the recording on properly, and so were relying on what they were hearing through university speakers. Once they listened to our work through the Sound Theatre speakers, they completely changed their mind on 90% of the changes they wanted to make, which I think is worth noting, because not all of the 300 students on Media Production will have the same access that we did to actual good quality speakers, and has caused a big problem for our group that wouldn’t have been there in the first place if the media group were provided with working equipment.
